The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is the main entrance exam for undergraduate admission to Delhi University and many other central universities. Since admission is based on your CUET score, smart preparation can make a big difference.
Understand the sections
CUET broadly tests three areas:
- Languages – reading comprehension, vocabulary and grammar.
- Domain subjects – the subjects you studied in Class 12 (for example Physics, Accountancy, History).
- General Test – general knowledge, current affairs, reasoning and basic quantitative aptitude.
Always check the latest official notification for the exact pattern and subject choices required by your target university and course.
Use NCERT for domain subjects
Domain-subject questions are based on the Class 12 syllabus, so your board preparation and CUET preparation go hand in hand. Revise NCERT thoroughly and practise MCQs chapter-wise.
Build speed with mock tests
CUET is a computer-based MCQ exam, so speed and accuracy matter. Start with sectional tests and then move to full mock tests. Analyse every test — note which topics take too much time and which questions you get wrong.
Read daily for the General Test
Spend 20–30 minutes a day on newspapers or monthly current-affairs notes, and practise a few reasoning and maths questions daily.
Plan your university and course choices early
Know which subjects your preferred course requires. This helps you select the right subject combination while filling the form.
